> Chillida Leku
Zabalaga country house, 15 km from San Sebastian, was built in the 16th century and was purchased and restored by the sculptor Eduardo Chillida in 1982.
A tour through the Chillida-Leku Museum includes a stroll through the splendid garden, where 50 large-scale sculptures can be seen either from a distance or close-up.
Inside the building one can view smaller works, drawings and even his first sculptures of torsos. But his real personality is outside where his sculptures are displayed in the open air.
The museum also offers a rest area and shop, along with a library and auditorium. Audiovisual projections in the latter provide the visitor with a glimpse into the creative and production processes that went into the artist’s work.
