The tiny territory of Gipuzkoa encloses such a vast array of contrasts that it visibly grows in the visitor’s eye.
The Bay of Biscay bathes a shore interspersed with inlets that are the ideal setting for sheltered fishing villages, separated from each other by rocky cliffs, grassy meadows, gorgeous beaches and numerous river estuaries.
Inland, the landscape is made up of narrow valleys lined with an evergreen
carpet, where it is easy to come across remote corners dotted with Basque
farmhouses, caseríos, and grazing cattle.
